Rukun Wudhu

🧼 The Six Pillars of Wudu (Ablution)

Wudu is a sacred cleansing ritual performed before prayer in Islam. These six steps are mandatory and must be done in order for the purification to be valid:

  1. Intention (Niyyah)
A sincere intention in the heart to perform wudu for the sake of Allah.
  2. Washing the Face
From the hairline to the chin, and ear to ear—water must touch the entire face.
  3. Washing Both Arms up to the Elbows
Start from the fingertips and include the elbows, making sure to clean between the fingers.
  4. Wiping the Entire Head
Use wet hands to gently wipe over the whole head.
  5. Washing Both Feet up to the Ankles
Begin from the toes and include the ankles, cleaning between the toes.
  6. Sequence (Tartib)
All steps must be performed in the correct order, from intention to washing the feet.
